After a long day mommy and the twins were tuckered out!
So far it has been a wonderful and exhausting few days. We are learning so much and though it's the hardest thing we've ever done, it's well worth it.

So far the twins really love the vibrating bouncy seats. Ethan loves to bounce them as well. Of course we have to be right there at all times. He tends to get a little too excited with them.
As soon as Ethan saw there pacifiers he went straight for them. He knew just what to do. Now we have to hide them on the kitchen counter!
Can we say regression?
The twins had their first doctor appt. today. It was eventful but very tiring for them. Carson weighed in at 5 pounds 1 ounce and Mason finally hit the five pound marker! We were relieved to finally see our pediatrician. He said they look great and are doing remarkably
well! We were pleased. :)

The last few days have been such a whirlwind! Ethan is slowly getting used to the idea of being a big brother. We started out on a bit of a rocky path though. Here he is throwing a tantrum when we tried to take the one of the twin's bottle away.
Digging for gold. Nice.
The dogs have been demoted once again. We are trying to give them as much attention as possible. Some days there is just no time! Poor Tucker is hanging in there as well as to be expected.
Sweet Presley.

Today we got a phone call out of the blue that we could finally bring the boys home! Eric rushed home to put the car seats in the car and I hurried around trying to get the Pack and Play set up. Ethan was dropped off at Julie's house and we were on our way!
When we got to the hospital, we watched a CPR video and began filling out paperwork. We were so anxious! All we could focus on was getting them home.
Ethan got such a kick out of his little brothers! All he wanted to do was pat them and say "babies." We don't think he quite understands yet, but soon they'll all be buddies.
Oops! Ethan is poking Carson on the face. We have to work on that one....

Mason sleeps peacefully while Carson eats. Look at those cheeks filling out! How cute!
Mommy trying to burp Mason. Do I remember how to do all of this??
The nurses tell us that they fuss when they're apart and they calm down the minute they are together again. We've also observed that they are starting to notice one another. What fun we are going to have!

While we were unpacking the office area, Ethan played on the computer.
He loves the computer! If I turn my head just for a second, he hurries upstairs and starts playing his favorite game.
The two quilts at the top of their crib were made by the ladies from the Methodist Church in Pahrump, Nevada. They were given to us as a gift for the boys. Thanks Jacqueline from Green Valley United Methodist for delivering them! They are darling!
Daddy on his lunch break feeding Carson. He is now eating as much as Mason! We are so happy for all the progress he has made.

Carson is up to 4lbs 12 oz; Mason is up to 4lbs 11 oz.
Mason continues to eat well -Carson continues to take his time.
Latest nurse said that since their weight is moving up together, they'd probably come home together. Their theory on that changes often, so we're not sure what to believe. But our preference would be to keep them together if at all possible.
We'll feed them at 2pm today and see how they're doing!

Mason and Carson now weigh 4 pounds 5 ounces! Yea! They are being moved to the 6th floor which means they will be coming home in the next 2-3 weeks. We can't wait!
Carson being held by our favorite nurse Marie. She is wonderful with them!
The boys now sleep in an open air crib. They can now regulate their own body temperature. No more incubators!

Great news!! The twins were moved to the Preemie Patch yesterday. The Preemie Patch is a step up from the general NICU floor. It means that they're one step closer to going home. The babies that go to the Preemie Patch have to be breathing on their own and eating well. The next step will be the 6th floor. Then they will for sure be ready to go home! Yea Mason and Carson!
Mason is the one on the right and Carson is on the left. Looking great boys!!

Eric and I got a chance to hold both of the boys again. Mason is getting ready for his first feeding with Mommy! Mason drank a whole ounce of formula in one sitting! They both eat an ounce every three hours.
Daddy holding Carson close.
Together again! This is the last day for Carson to have the nasal canula (the tube across his face). He is now breathing room air like his brother. Way to go Carson!

Mason and Carson are finally in the same incubator together! The doctor thought it would be best for them to be together. Since all of their IV's are out, there is no risk of them tugging eachother's out. Mason is on the right and Carson is on the left.
They are already getting tangled up! So many arms and legs!
These are the syringes that hold their food. They eat about an ounce every 3 hours.

Ethan's favorite things right now are anything that has to do with music, counting 1-10 and reciting the alphabet. We bought him this little piano with a microphone and it was a huge hit! He loves to sing into the microphone while playing some tunes. It has been so wonderful to be with him especially during this trying time. He keeps us so busy which is a great thing right now!
He got into the laundry basket and threw the clothes all over the place. Laundry is only one of a million things he gets into lately!
